Year 2005, Pinoy anime fans agreed that what happened that year was a disaster. The phenomenon of Naruto, Gatekeepers and Fruits Basket was not enough to say that year's outcome due to Marmalade Boy's controversial removal for the air, Hero TV's "late coming" (because Manila viewers got the taste of the channel's regular programming on December while the provinces had it on September... lucky me, I AM A PROBINSYANO!) and the rate itself (28.85% says it's BAD).
Year 2006, where we test the newest players on anime programming... Hero TV and QTV 11. Plus, we add entries from Cable TV, some new categories and popularity awards. The results was ground-breaking. QTV 11 did well at the Gold, Bronze and Teen/Drama categories. It even grabs that year's title for TLC TV Network of the Year. Meanwhile, Hero TV ties with Animax Philippines for the Gold, but won the Bronze and Teen/Drama, and got the TLC TV Network title (for the second straight year!). Hero TV also won for the improvement of the dubbing of Voltes V and for finishing Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. A big win also for the phenomenal Haruhi Suzumiya and a big dissapointment on the part of the Lilian girls. 34.67% of the fans agreed that the year 2006 was a Good year.
Walang duda.
That also caused GMA 7 and QTV 11 to remove one anime timeslot in the afternoon at pinag-uusapan pa rin kung kailan itutuloy ang Bleach o ipapalabas muna nila ang napapabalitang latest acquisition nilang Death Note.
But this year, para mas maging mapanuri tayo, may mga twist tayong gagawin.
