Questor Magazine on the Hot Seat: The Price or the Credibility?

Maybe you walk along your area and you've made it to the magazine stand looking for the ultimate anime magazine, Questor. It's almost five months after their second issue for the year 2004. If i'm not mistaken, it's was about Hamtaro.

If you did the same like I am, maybe you will quickly noticed that the magazine's price is now much lower. From Php 200 dow down to Php 120. That's good news. But that's not big as this one. Questor Magazine is now under the management of ABS-CBN Publishing, Incorporated.

Before you asked about this, let me explain the situation Questor is facing. Regarding the mag itself, the Questor staff is still under control. ABS-CBN Publishing will take over on business matters. So as long as I understand, ABS-CBN have nothing to do on what Questor will write every month.

That maybe a little light of relief for you, but take a look closely to the mag. By the way, their Questor issue as of this month is about Card Captor Sakura, Outlaw Star and Gundam's 25th Anniversary.
If you have that issue right now, take a look on what will I say. I'm telling you, you will surprise.

First, the Questor logo. The logo still has the slogan, "The Ultimate Anime Magazine". But hey! no website URL on their mag! ONE POINT! At the second page, you will already site the SMS/MMS ad on the college basketball leagues on ABS-CBN's sister station Studio 23, the UAAP and the NCAA. In other words, some of the pages here are ads from ABS-CBN. 2 POINTS!

Nezt up is the editorial box. Again! No website URL of their mag! Neither their OWN e-mail ad! 3 POINTS! It was replaced by the ABS-CBN Publishing's e-mail ad. That means, every feedback you want to reach to them will go to ABS-CBN first. 4 POINTS! CRITICAL HIT! The mag is much bigger. 5 POINTS! The anime videos ad has no Anime-Club logo in it. 6 POINTS! CRITICAL HIT!

Have you noticed that everytime readers request to feature one or more ABS-CBN animes, it will took a long time before it granted? Well, at the time they are on ABS-CBN, the feature on their latest issue is an ABS-CBN anime-Card Captor Sakura!

What a big sacrifice Questor done to themselves, to the readers all around the world and to the anime industry itself. They are the most reliable source of anime news and information. But now, they screwed up!

Only one thing I want to demand to them, DON'T BE BIASED!
